The digital era is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous: it keeps changing and evolving.

During the era of digital transformation, companies must be smart: they have to acknowledge these changes and use them to gain a competitive advantage.

For this reason, many companies are now choosing to adopt a digital strategy to keep up with the recent changes and the Covid-19 consequences.

This business strategy, though, could only be successful if it considers the impact that these new technologies will have on their employees.

On this note, the Digital HR must give employees the right competences and tools to be ready to face these new challenges.

This transformation, in fact, requires an employee to have digital skills, which are not only technological skills, but also flexibility, adaptability and a fast learning capability. They must always be updated with new trends and technologies to be able to catch each opportunity and to keep up with other companies and competitors.

Therefore, employees are now put in the center as important company’s stakeholders due to a new approach: the “People Strategy”, an “employees-first” point of view where the human factor becomes fundamental.

When a company decides to adopt this kind of strategy it is to improve people’s wellness and satisfaction, as well as to engage them and make them feel appreciated and valuable, just as they usually do with a customer. This approach is becoming fundamental since new technologies are influencing employees’ expectations, which therefore will increase the relevance of transparency, sustainability and a dynamic work environment.

The employee’s satisfaction, just as a client’s one, determines the success of a company, that will see an increment from a performance point of view.
